Spring: Time for The Wood ElementPosted: Mar 31st, 2015
The Spring equinox marks the climax of the Wood element in our natural environment. Whether we thrive in this environment or find our symptoms aggravated, is a sign of how well our bodies are able to adapt to this upward rising and expanding movement of qi.
The windy nature of this spring-time energy can be wonderfully cleansing and invigorating for some of us, getting us excited to be outdoors, planting our gardens and moving our bodies more vigorously. If headaches, pre-menstrual symptoms, or increase in joint pains and stiffness are preventing an easy, joyful movement into Spring, support yourself with cleansing and detoxifying foods, gentle movement for the joints, and some time nurturing your creativity, in addition to seasonal acupuncture treatment.
